Toronto's Awful Directional Signage
In my final semester at university, I examined some of the signage systems employed around Toronto and how poorly they work. Some are notorious in their bad design, such as the PATH. Others are less known and most often taken for granted. The TTC promised to reform its signage from the ground up back in 2013 but did a somewhat satisfactory job. On older sections of the subway, signs from ages past and present mix and contradict each other causing confusion among transit-takers.
This annotated visual critique attempts to bring attention to the less noticed, yet, arguably, more important, parts of our urban ecosystem.
